Biography

Background & Story

In the classroom, I guide students through topics like leadership, management, organizational behavior, and human resource management. Beyond the classroom, I help professionals navigate career transitions, reposition their experience, and move forward with greater clarity.

What ties it all together is a deep interest in how organizations function, how people lead, and how individuals make meaningful career decisions that shape their professional lives.

"Even before experiencing a layoff myself, I became deeply interested in how people navigate career disruption. My experience further shaped my research, writing, and career strategy work, and it's why I care so much about helping others move through professional change with clarity and confidence."

My career spans more than 27 years across financial services, higher education, and entrepreneurship. After spending nearly three decades in corporate financial services, I experienced a layoff that became a turning point — one that deepened my commitment to understanding career disruption and helping others navigate it with resilience and intention.

Today, I serve as an Assistant Professor of Business at Ohio Dominican University, where I teach leadership, management, organizational behavior, and human resource management. I also run Career Compass, a coaching practice dedicated to helping professionals navigate career transitions, job searches, and strategic career decisions with clarity and confidence.
